Conference on the future of business and the workplace
Herman Van Rompuy to receive ESMT Responsible Leadership Award ESMT European School of Management and Technology is holding the 2014 ESMT Annual Forum Corporation 2050: Building to last, leading to adapt in Berlin today. Opinion leaders from business, academia, and politics will debate the concepts and solutions necessary for business to meet the challenges of the future and achieve long-term, sustainable success.

Global business leaders and academics will discuss the future of work and the workplace, the role of technology and business innovation, and leadership and sustainability. Keynote speakers at this year's ESMT Annual Forum are Michael Diekmann (Allianz), Kurt Bock (BASF), and Peter Bakker (World Business Council for Sustainable Development). Other panelists include Jürgen Fitschen (Deutsche Bank), Theo Freye (CLAAS), Jayant Kohale (Larsen and Toubro), David B. Peterson (Google), Frank Riemensperger (Accenture), Johannes Teyssen (E.ON), and Angela Titzrath (Deutsche Post).

The ESMT Responsible Leadership Award ceremony will take place at 5:30 p.m. with this years recipient Herman Van Rompuy, president of the European Council, personally accepting the award. It is a great honor to receive this award from ESMT. Europe has faced major and unexpected challenges in the recent past. Our mission remains to preserve the achievements of our Union and to make sure that the countries of our continent are ready to face the future, said Herman Van Rompuy.

Ambassador Wolfgang Ischinger, global head of Public Policy and Economic Research at Allianz and chairman of the Munich Security Conference, will present Herman Van Rompuy with the award. Past recipients of the ESMT Responsible Leadership Award include Mario Draghi, president of the European Central Bank; Mario Monti, former prime minister and senator-for-life of the Republic of Italy; Güler Sabanc, chairman and managing director of Turkeys Sabanc Holding; and N.R. Narayana Murthy, co-founder and chairman emeritus of Infosys.

We have once again brought together a diverse group of renowned experts to discuss future challenges and possible solutions for companies, especially in terms of technological developments and sustainability, commented ESMT president Jörg Rocholl. ESMT will continue to promote these types of discussions and to provide a platform for international exchange of ideas in the future.
